From Instagram to IRL: My Book Tour Adventure So Far!

Hey everyone, it’s Dr Syreeta B from @fashionablepmp, and I’m thrilled to share my book tour experience so far! It’s been a whirlwind of excitement, meeting readers, and sharing my passion for work life magic & project management.

For those who haven’t heard, my book, “Unleash Your Inner Bad Bitch“, launched recently, and it’s been amazing to see the response. It’s truly a dream come true to connect with readers on a deeper level, and the book tour has been the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Highlights from the Road:

  • New Orleans: The WoPM conference launch event was electric! The lines for an autographed copy of the book were long with excitement as each woman anxiously waited for Dr B to sign and take a photo. I met some amazing women who were all slaying in fashion and felt the sisterhood in the air.

  • Houston: Immediately after New Orleans was the 3 hr drive to Houston from my home in Austin. Hubby and daughter tagged along for the drive. Hurricane Beryl was supposed to hit Houston the Sunday evening so I figured 1) Saturday should be cool and 2) the Shrine CulturalCenter didn’t call me or email with a cancellation so should be good. An hour away from Houston and a storm came, not Beryl, but just as heavy. I was ready to turn around then but hubby said let’s get through it and see. I was happy to see the rain had stopped but my heart dropped when I pulled into the parking lot and saw just 2 cars. I drove towards the door and parked next to a security guard. I asked if they were closed and he said yeah, everyone left around 2:30! My event was schedule at 5. He brought the owner out and she had the audacity to say I should have called. I told her I drove 3 hours to get here but it’s okay, only 3 hours. We turned around and hit the road. I stopped at a whataburger to stretch my legs and feed the family then came home. Never going back to that place again. That was plain unprofessional. So if you have another bookstore in mind that would like host me in Houston, let me know.

  • Austin: I loved the Q&A session at Black Pearl Bookstore. Readers asked some incredible questions about my writing process, what led to this book, and what’s the next book, and it really sparked some great conversations.

The adventure continues! I followed up with:

  • New York City: July 27th at Word Up Communteria Bookstore

  • Los Angeles: August 3rd at Bodega Santa Monica

In the meantime, follow me on Instagram @fashionablepmp for more behind-the-scenes peeks and updates from the road. I’ll be sharing photos, stories, and more as I journey across the country!

I can’t wait to see you at the next stop and will more than likely resume book signings Summer to Winter 2025!

Until the next time…

Dr Syreeta B
